What I Believe

I believe good design can save the world.
Design and engineering solve real-world problems for humans, and no matter how advanced AI becomes, humans will always be that connection to the human and physical world.

How I Got Here

I’ve been practicing systematic problem-solving for nearly 20 years, with seven of those years in the Software as a Service space. So often, the biggest roadblock to achieving real solutions is our own thinking about the problems. I use proven strategies for breaking down complex problems into specific, targeted objectives, test cases, and solutions.

I put a strong emphasis on positioning problems in a context with real impact and meaning for customers and teams, defining the team’s strategic intent, and framing the whole process in a way that makes solutions possible and learning inevitable.

I’ve been steeped in design my entire life and have experienced how good design can deliver meaningful solutions for people and how bad design can erode trust from the boardroom to the public reputation.

Good design solves a problem; anything else is decoration.

I also try to keep my mind limber with a strict regimen of hyping the people I love, cooking delicious food, photography, running, and meditation.
